How To Solve Statement And Assumptions Questions Quickly
How to Solve Statement and Assumptions
In the communication part we daily make statements. These statements are very essential part of day to day speech. However, in terms of written communication most of the thoughts remain unwritten. How to Solve Statement and Assumptions questions quickly is given here on this page.
Statement and Assumptions: Concept and Strategy
Introduction:
“Statement and Assumptions” is a logical reasoning concept that assesses your ability to identify the implicit assumptions underlying a given statement. An assumption is an unstated belief or condition that must be true for the statement to be considered valid or logically sound.
How It Works:
In these types of questions, you are presented with a statement, followed by a set of assumptions. Your task is to determine whether each assumption can be reasonably inferred from the given statement.
Purpose:
This concept is commonly used in aptitude tests, competitive exams, and job assessments to evaluate your critical thinking, analytical skills, and ability to recognize underlying assumptions.
Strategy for Solving:
- Understand the Statement: Grasp the main message and context of the given statement. Pay attention to the subject matter and any implied relationships.
- Identify Assumptions: Focus on the assumptions provided. These are the statements that you need to evaluate in relation to the given statement.
- Evaluate Assumptions Individually: For each assumption, consider its logical relationship with the statement. Determine whether it’s a necessary condition for the statement to hold true.
- Prioritize Relevance: Focus on assumptions that directly relate to the subject matter of the statement. Discard assumptions that are irrelevant or tangential.
- Consider Necessity: An assumption is necessary if the statement cannot logically hold true without it. If the statement falls apart without the assumption, it’s likely valid.
