Versant Test Sections
Section A- Reading
- This round consist of 8 sentences displayed one after another on the screen, to which you have to respond and read those sentences loudly and in clear voice.
- Time limit is not given for this section but you need to read every sentence within 15-20 sec.
This process is basically an exercise to examine the reading ability of the candidate.
For an instance – The interviewing audio might direct you to read sentence number 1 and then within a few seconds you will have to read it out loud with proper pronunciation. This same procedure will continue till 8 sentences are being pronounced by the candidate.
NOTE-
- First go through the complete sentence in your mind after that proceed toward the round.
- You will get 8 consecutive sentences to read, so try to pronounce every word clearly.
Section B- Repeating Sentences
- As an advancement to the above reading assessment, this section will be more of duplication. In this round you will be given 16 audio sentences. You have to clearly listen what the audio speaks and then repeat it loudly which will test your pronunciation and listening ability.
NOTE-
- You will get only one chance to listen the audio, so please be attentive.
- Do not rush with your words, listen intently and then repeat with exact pronunciations like the audio.
- If there’s an accent which is foreign to you, do not hesitate, keep going and try to sound as close to the audio as you can. Accent dose not matter that much, but you have to repeat the audio with all the words.
Section C- Question and Answer
In this section. There will be 24 easy questions asked orally and there will be no text that is displayed on screen. While answering the question you have to be precise.
This round is a quick question and answer round that takes into account your promptness in thinking and speaking while testing your vocabulary as well. The answer should be in one or two words.
Example – you keep the books on the table or in fridge !

NOTE-
- The best aid here is to listen to the question carefully, think and answer promptly.
Section D- Sentence Building
- This section consist of 10 jumbled sentences, i.e., each sentence is jumbled and you have to rearrange the words to build the sentence.
- This is an audio round as well, where the AI will speak, and you have to listen carefully and arrange the words.
For example,
The audio might read – on the table, the books are.
You will have to answer it with the correct sentence – The books are on the table
NOTE-
- Pay attention to the statement that is being spoke out to you
- This section takes an account of your pace in knowledge application.
Section E- Story Retellings
- You will hear 3 brief stories. Each story will be spoken once, followed by a beep. When you will hear the beep, you will have 30 seconds to retell the story in English. Try to retell as much of the story as you can, including the actions, characters, situations, and ending. You will hear another beep at the end of 30 seconds.

NOTE-
- A short story will be narrated to you which you will have to listen to and recall it after a beep.
- In the window of 30 seconds, you are supposed to speak what you retain.
- Once your 30 seconds are over you will hear a beep again, it will be time for another story or narration.
Section F- Open questions
- You will hear 2 questions about family life or personal choices. Each question will be spoken twice, followed by a beep, you will have 40 secs to answer the question. You will hear another beep at the end of 40 seconds.
NOTE-
- Breathe in and breathe out! Have the monk style patience because you’ll do good if you keep your calm in this round.

Things to note before attending test:
- Have a phone with very good signal.
- Make sure no one will call you while attending.
- Try listening to the trial tests.
- Read and understand all the instructions.
Note that Deloitte never declare or let you know a cut off for this test.

- Listen to the voice very carefully.
- Never ever ever get tensed. If you do you’ll loose your tone.
- Try to keep a normal slang by pronouncing each word properly.
Deloitte Versant Test Cut Off
The Deloitte Versant Test cut off will be 75 percentile. If you are in the top 25 % people then you will make it to the next round.
How to clear Deloitte SVAR or Versant Test ?
The test is conducted using IVR and you have to listen to the questions asked and answer online accordingly. There are different sections like
Listening: You would need to listen to a conversation between two persons .Post listening to the conversation, you would be asked specific questions. It would be in American accent mostly.
Sentence Building: You have to rearrange the sentence. Some questions may be based from the grammar perspective too.
Reading: Some questions can be on reading & comprehension.

SVAR – which loosely means words and voice in hindi is a patented test which evaluates the candidate on the following capabilities –
- Reading
- Fluency
- Speaking

- Vocabulary
It is a telephone based test, which you can also attend by home or in case of on campus placements via portal connect a headphone and make a call to the number that they give you via computer.
- Step 1 – Make call to the number they provides to you.
- Duration of the test will be – approx 20 mins
- No of Questions – 63 Questions
- Step 2 – IVR will be prompted, state your Name, ID given to you before the test and then using the phone digits enter your ID again
- Step 3 – Test will now start
Note – Make sure that you have alteast 50Rs balance before calling the number(If you are taking the test at home). The number is not toll free and the call ending may result in test status as not completed.
Check List before making the call
- More than 50Rs balance in phone.
- Proper Network(Avoid making calls with JIO), though number of re-attempts allowed for the test are 2, in case of call failures.
- Speak where there is no background noise and disturbance in a closed room preferably.
- Use earphones or headphones with working microphone(test this before hand), to be able to hear what IVR says
- Note down Your ID, PARSE KEY (given to you by your test centre), SVAR ID, TEST ID in a notepad.You need to type these on your mobile’s keypad for verification.
